[/caption]We have already reported on two hot summer festivals taking place in various parts of the country this summer: Naperville’s Ribfest 2010, that is taking place right now outside of Chicago; and Comfest 2010, that just wrapped up their annual event on June 27th near Columbus, Ohio.
If you have not been able to make it to a festival near you featuring live music, great food, and family entertainment, then your summer experience is nowhere near complete.
Here is some good news for Minnesotans looking to hop on the summer festival bandwagon: the Taste of Minnesota 2010, affectionately shortened to “Taste of MN”, is gearing up to kick off their annual summer fun at Harriet Island tonight with some awesome bands performing live on one of the event’s 4 stages.
Tonight’s Main Stage performers include Minus the Bear, The Walkmen, P.O.S., and Atmosphere. Minus the Bear will be getting the show started at 5 pm local time.
Other hit musical sensations that are scheduled to perform during the festival include Counting Crows, The Offspring, and 311. If you are in the area, or even reasonably close, there is no reason you should pass up the opportunity to see internationally renowned bands jam alongside local favorites at what promises to be an amazing July 4th weekend celebration, starting tonight and finishing on July 5th.
Families with children can bring the kids as early as 11 am to participate in fun, interactive events geared towards kids of all ages.
It doesn’t seem like it could get any better than a family oriented environment featuring amazing live performances, until you realize the sheer amount and variety of food vendors that will be set up around the family and stage areas.
Visitors will quickly realize why the festival is called “Taste of MN”; there is no shortage to local favorites cooking up delicious meals and tasty treats all day long.
