Basic Design
Twittelator for iPad offers superbly designed user interface. In the landscape orientation, Twittelator offers two windows and a floating menu bar. Landscape orientation is preferable as it provides a wider screen and the app is best viewed in this orientation. The time-line of people you follow appears on the left side of the screen moreover all the major options including Direct Messages, Trends, Search and Drafts appear on a floating menu bar at the bottom. If you tap on any message/profile from your time-line or select any option Twittelator opens it up on the right side of the screen without letting you compromise on your time-line.

Twittelator does not disappoint when it comes to posting a tweet. You not only get a basic iPad keyboard but you can utilize tons of options on the go. Some really useful buttons for photos, hash-tags, contacts and geo-tagging are available.
There is a smart text field right above the keyboard which lets you write a tweet. You can add photos on the go with a media upload button that contains library media (photos) and lets you record audio and you can even add song info that you are currently playing. A geo-tag button allows you to insert map link with your tweet. The hash tag button holds all the predefined tags that you most commonly use including #nowplaying. A smart and useful @reply button displays all the contacts in a list format and you can choose anyone by simply tapping on the name.

[/caption]Twittelator is full of surprises. A smiley face button lets you include black/white and colored emoticons (unfortunately colored emoticons don’t appear in the timeline of other people for now).
Another very useful button is placed next to the text field that holds options such as tweet private, shrink the tweet and you can even shorten links. The shrink tweet option works amazingly. Suppose you have typed the word “really” and then pressed the shrink tweet button, it will automatically be shorten into “rlly”.
Twittelator introduces slide-to-send button so if you accidentally tap the send button it will not be sent. You have to slide the send button which adds extra safety to prevent the accidental tweeting.
Direct Messages
The designing team of twittelator deserves appreciation as they provide Direct Messages in the retro red and blue mail envelopes. The tidy letter that you see if you tap on Direct Messages contains all of your DMs.

Some experts claim that the true power of twitter lies in its search function and Twittelator lets you search people, keywords and locations. If you type in a keyword then Twittelator will display organized stream of tweets containing that keyword. User search will let you find any user quickly and with a single tap you will be able to see all the relevant information about that user in a beautifully designed profile page. You can also search people in your surrounding area if you have allowed the app to use your GPS information. You can also browse and search Twitter Lists.
Individual tweet
When you tap on an individual tweet it opens up on the right side of the screen. Different options including Retweet, Quote Tweet, Translate, Reply can be applied to the individual tweet.
Draft
Twittelator introduces the idea of drafts with an awesomely designed yellow notepad. If you are typing a tweet and suddenly have to indulge in some other activity then you can simply save the tweet as a draft. You can always complete these draft tweets by tapping draft button on the bottom floating menu.
