Apple Inc. announced today, that the new iPad is going to be available in nine more countries. The inhabitants of Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore can start to stand in line beginning this Friday, July 23, in order to snatch up one of the first iPads delivered to their respective country.

The iPad is particularly popular as a result of the many iPad Apps. With only 1/2 inch the iPad is fairly thin and with 1.5 pounds it invites its users to carry it around a all times. The iPad is thinner and lighter than usual laptops and with an estimated average battery live of up to 10 hours, it even makes sense to carry it around.

All iPad models will be available in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore this Friday, July 23, through Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.

Pricing & Availability
All iPad models will be available in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore this Friday, July 23.

The iPad is currently available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the US for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for 16GB, $599 (US) for 32GB, and $699 (US) for 64GB for iPad Wi-Fi models and $629 (US) for 16GB, $729 (US) for 32GB and $829 (US) for 64GB for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G models.

Apple Inc. also announced, that the iPad will be available in many more countries later this year. The prices in those additional countries may vary from the current retail prices.

Here is how Apple sees itself:
"Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork, and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple is reinventing the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and has recently introduced its magical iPad which is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices."

While that statement might sound a little arrogant, even the baddest Apple critics have to admit that Apple knows what they are doing and they have a knack in telling their customers exactly what to do and when. In particular they tell their fans when they have to spend the night in front of one of their stores.  They are probably only topped by the boyscouts in the number of accomplished camp-outs.
