One of today's highlight 2010 FIFA World Cup games was the United States vs. Slovenia, or the USA Slovenia World Cup game. It was a thrilling game, however it ended in a 2:2 tie.
The World Cup is the most exciting sports event this year, however it's not the tournament itself that is so exciting, it's the games that are played within in and the countries that oppose each other.
In today's game, Slovenia received 4 yellow cards while the United States received only one. This goes to show that Slovenia was either playing rough or the ref favored a side. I myself think it's the first.
The United States' current FIFA ranking is 14. Slovenia's rank is 25. It seems that the USA has a higher chance of advancing far into the World Cup, however Slovenia has been doing pretty good so far so who knows.
The great thing about the World Cup is that it doesn't matter how small or big a country is, or what its population is.

Slovenia may be a lot smaller than California, just one of the 50 USA states, however that didn't stop them from teaching the U.S. some lessons in the second round of World Cup group play.
Slovenia went against the U.S. good and strong. They defended with strength and resolution. They did a really good job of it too.
Sometimes, large countries are in the need of a lesson and sometimes the smaller countries are the ones to teach them. Today was one of those days. Slovenia did a really great job in this game and I think that many people hope to see them advance further in the World Cup.
In today's game, the United States enjoyed some good periods, however Slovenia showed impressive skill and resilience and seems to be edging closer to history.

"In today’s game, Slovenia received 4 yellow cards while the United States received only one. This goes to show that Slovenia was either playing rough or the ref favored a side. I myself think it’s the first"
ردحذفSay that again? Not sure what match were you watching, if any, but that referee who "favored a side" anulled a perfectly valid goal for USA.
Where's the "Dislike" button?
What about the third goal that was canceled? Are you from another planet? Did you actually watch that game? Even Slovenians should feel ashamed for a tie that was handed to them.
ردحذفYou obviously were NOT watching the same game!
ردحذفHow on earth can you leverage a bias against Slovenia based upon bookings when the USA side was DENIED A GOAL FOR NO REASON, WITHOUT EXPLANATION?
ردحذفMaybe if we put presure on the corporate sponsors that FIFA has aligned themselves, we might get a true answer to what happened. I mean let us boycot ADIDAS, Coca-Cola, Bud., Castrol, Continental Tire, McDonalds, VISA, Sony, KIA-Hundai, and even Disney, they paid to have the rights to televise the games. While the world might be against this boycot, let us see if the U.S. market is worth anything to these corporations. Who else can actually ask FIFA for an explanation other than their sponsors. Be honest, if all the US sends them letters, they can just throw them away without actually reading one. But what will they do to their finacial backers?
ردحذفIt was the denial of the last goal that was the defining part of the game. The US is used to being 'shocked' into playing by an early goal. And as far as both the offense and defense of both teams, play was sloppy at best.
ردحذفAs an American, I'm watching the Eng-Alg game right now in hopes of seeing some real soccer.
If you learned to read the FIRST means the author thinks Slovenia played rough. Learn to read!

Erhm... Viva la revolucion? What did anything that you wrote have to do with the game? Not mentionin that it didn't make any sense.
The top article didn't make any sense actually. Other than a viva la revolucion.
