I do not listen to Rush Limbaugh nor do I listen to Shaun Hannity because they are obviously biased, but at least, they let you know it by their respective takes on the issues of the day. We cannot say the same about the crew at MSNBC, who would swear up and down that they have no bias.

A few days ago, the co-host, Mika Brzezinski of the chat-fest, Morning Joe, was caught reciting the White House talking points for the Gulf Spill. Mika was apparently flustered by ex-mayor Giuliani’s spirited critique of the Obama administration handling of the BP’s spill, but even if the mayor were misrepresenting the White House’s position on the issue… did it warrant the breaching of what is left of journalistic ethics?

Ironically, Morning Joe is a program that I watch because it has two opposing point of views: that of Mika, the Liberal; and that of Joe Scarborough, the Conservative. Mika did not appear on the show yesterday, but I am certain that she will be back. Imagine this happening at Fox, where the Bush White House talking points were recited verbatim, the biased press would be calling for heads to roll, but not those belonging to their Liberal darlings.

I long ago stop taking MSNBC serious, but what happened on Morning Joe I expected to hear on their nightly programs. There is supposed to be a modicum of journalistic integrity and the appearance of impropriety should be difficult to glean. If nothing else, out of self interest, the powers that be at MSNBC must appear to be fair in their reporting: invite someone from the White House or a Liberal pundit to refute what Giuliani had to say, as opposed to reciting the White House’s talking points.

Reciting the talking points made such recital appear that everything recited had no bias or advocate. Do the bigwigs at MSNBC think that Obama will stay in office forever – how does a news network walk itself back from being the mouthpiece of an administration? I said this before but it is applicable and worth repeating hear again: I take refuge in the fact that someone in the near future will place his or her pet on the internet… performing a trick… and said pet will garner more viewers than those who tune in to watch anything on MSNBC…, which is like the equivalent of Pravda in America.
