[/caption]Kellogg Co. announced that they are voluntarily recalling over 28 million boxes of certain breakfast cereals, due to an uncharacteristic smell coming from the liner in the package.
While this recall affects different products, it has also been called the Froot Loops® recall. Other products affected are Apple Jacks®, Corn Pops® and Honey Smacks®.
Products that fall under this recall carry the designation "KN". Products that are labeled "KM" are not included in the recall. The recall is only for products that were or are sold in the US. Canadian cereals are not affected.
The company considers the potential risk for health problems very low and said that only consumers that are very sensitive to smell can have adverse reactions including nausea and diarrhea.

from 8 am to 8 pm Eastern time."We apologize to our consumers and our customers and are working diligently to ensure that the affected products are rapidly removed from the marketplace," said David Mackay, president and chief executive officer, Kellogg Company.
The products involved in the recall were shipped throughout the U.S. and the company said that all retailers that received these products are being notified.
