[/caption]There is no doubt that Christina Aguilera has one of the most gifted singing voices out there, but her fortunes are not what they used to be. The fame she enjoyed in the past has waned and she is not moving as much albums as she used to when she came out with something new. To add to Christina’s woes, she recently cancelled a tour… supposedly to promote a movie she completed with Cher.
I am of the opinion that some of these stars will say anything for attention and I would surmise that Christina’s saying that she is attracted to women is such a cry for attention to buttress and augment her flagging album sales. Christina is in the same boat many genuine stars find themselves in – it is not all the time the public is going to love you to the extent when they first came on the scene.
Americans are funny in that way, whereby they love to share the wealth among their entertainers - A few years might be for Lady Gaga… then it will be for someone else. It doesn’t mean that because Christina is not moving the amount of albums like when she was new… that she is not as gifted when she first came on the scene. Michael Jackson still had the voice and Prince still has the musical chops, but the public love to give others a chance at fame. Lady Gaga is currently the “it” artist… she is moving a lot of CDs and her tours are sold out – does it mean that she is as gifted as Aretha Franklin whose recent albums sales/tours are less lucrative?
It is why one should enjoy the ride when you are on top; and I do not mean enjoy the ride by being arrogant or acting like the spoil diva, as was displayed a couple of days ago by Lady Gaga at a Mets baseball game. Some of these stars when they are on top forget whence they came and when they are sliding back to the bottom… will resort or say anything. Christina may be indeed attracted to other women, but these controversial statements always seemed to come when the light of fame is flickering in the winds of change. The fact is that stars like the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Bon Jovi, and Prince make a killing touring, not-with-standing the fact that their respective albums sales are not what they used to be when they were white hot. Christina, you still have that one in a million voice… you need not resort to cheap controversial statements for attention….
The difference is her album sucks and her album sales the same. Artist as Rollingstone, Tina Turner, and other artists mention they were themselves and did their on thing. Tina is a trend follower just follow other lead and sound terrible. She can have her voice but when she don't have any new ideas for music and keep sampling materials it gets old.
ردحذفi was about to say that she has always been attracted to women and has said it in past interviews, but yes...those comments seem to come at a time when she wants to promote something.
