One of the key differences between the mega blockbuster movie Avatar and its game lies in the story. Gameloft presents an entire new story and takes us to two decades earlier Pandora as it appeared in the actual movie. Avatar for iPad works on almost the same plot, humans from earth introduce Ryan Lorenz as a genetically engineered Na’vi to the natives and plan to obtain valued element present abundantly in the Na’vi area. As the time passes by our Na’vi hero changes his side and stands against his mentors.

Features

The foremost focus of the Avatar for iPad is on the action followed by navigation. When you start the game, you are required to extensively traverse the lush green jungles of the planet and occasionally have to engage in severe combat with the animals dwelling there. After proving your combating skills you earn the reward in the form of other Avatar weapons.

Diverse forms of gameplay are available for the gamers. From a simple traversing of the jungle to flying a dragon like creature, Avatar for iPad does offer some variety. All the major activities are planned in the hub, a central village of the Na’vis and handed down to your character in the form of small missions – usually you have to collect some item. As you progress in the Avatar for iPad more features begin to appear.

One thing that Avatar for iPad has to serious think about is the graphical department. We all know Avater the movie for its stunning visuals but the game generally fails to match the supreme standards set by the blockbuster. At some places Avatar for iPad seems like a mediocre 3D game that we encounter any now and then. Na’vi characters do perform many operations but their appearances need huge improvement to capture the hearts and minds of gamers.

Realizing the primary motive of Avatar for iPad is to engage in action, Gameloft introduced combo system for fight – you can use combination of fingers to explore new action sequences. This would have worked for Avatar but the mere act of combat is possible if you keep on hitting the attack button. This makes the whole scheme of combo system redundant. But one can’t take credit away from the development team of Avatar for iPad to provide variety of ways to engage in a combat.

Three weapons are offered as you progress into the game namely bow and arrow, a staff and lots of guns. Avatar for iPad did a good job to introduce these weapons in the early levels. Moreover when you are into the Avatar for iPad for a long while a magical bar at the top appears which can help you in many ways; it can enforce a magic field around you or can even prove as health boost.

You can attack the opponents while riding the horse which proves as a better option – it helps you to quickly attain your goal. Most of the animals that have appeared in the movie Avatar are present in Avatar for iPad with their known unfriendliness. In the early editions the game had some serious problems and it used to crash very frequently but now that problem is fixed.
