The discovery wasn’t up there in import with the discovery and subsequent interpretation of the Rosetta Stone, but the “chicken and egg” question has haunted human kind for years.

The NY Daily News is reporting that scientists have figured out the answer to the age old question of which came first, the chicken or the egg - it turned out that it was the chicken all along.

The English scientists who finally figured out the answer to the ageless query wrote a paper on their findings; the answer came down to “Ovocledidin 17,” a protein found only in the chicken responsible for making the eggs' hard shell – thus, finally, the answer to the chicken and egg answer.

This essential protein, “Ovocledidin 17,” which, can only be found in the chicken, was discovered by the scientists out of Sheffield and Warwick, England, who also believe that the answer to the chicken and egg query can lead to clues on how to invent and design new material and processes.

I, for one, am going to miss that saying, and I supposed that it is going to be difficult for the rest of us to excise it out of our repertoire.

With all the years racked up engaging in scientific studies, man hours, testing of hypotheses, peer review, and finally acceptance.

Although I do not have the wherewithal or the penchant for science, I could have told my learned scientific friends that the answer was there all the time: Genesis 1:21.
