Since the smartphone trend has caught on, we have all conceived what we believe to be the best idea for an application ever. Unfortunately, most of us would have no clue where to start coding a phone application, so our great ideas can never come to fruition. Thanks to Google, all of this is going to change.
Google revealed new software today that gives anyone the ability to create applications for Android phones (sorry iPhone lovers!).
To find out more information about the software you can visit their official site to get a run-down on how the software helps users to create phone applications for Droids.
Some key points from Google’s information site about the new software - called App Inventor - includes the fact that you can create virtually anything you want, from game applications to informative and educational apps for your Android phone.
The site brags about its key benefit, that the “App Inventor requires NO programming knowledge.”
The software works by having the user visually design what they want to have happen in their application, and then add the different features available to Android phones to add the finishing touches to the application.
The specific behaviors necessary to use the application are called “blocks” and include just about everything you can do with an Android phone, like the GPS-location sensor and other key features of Android phones.
The premier of App Inventor has Android lovers, once again, pointing to the advantages of Android phones over the Apple iPhone. This is just another example of increased flexibility of usage that directly contrasts against Apple’s incredibly limited application designing process.
Currently the only option for using Google’s new software is to sign up for their Beta version.
