You might have heard of the “barefoot bandit” who has been plaguing the Bahamas with his antics for the past few weeks. The individuals was arrested on charges of suspected airplane theft, flying the plane without clearance or certification, and subsequently crashing the plane in a field on one of the islands as well as various other burglaries around the islands.
Colton Harris-Moore is in custody and is said to be cooperative and calm with his dealings with the Royal Bahamas Police force. The 19-year-old American hardly looks like a hardened criminal, but instead embodies the appearance of a teenage boy looking for a joy ride to cause some mischief.
The “barefoot bandit” has developed a sort of following as the tales of his exploits have reached other youth in America. T-shirts have been created bearing his moniker, “the Barefoot Bandit” and a Facebook fan page has tens of thousands of followers following his mischievous maneuvering around the Bahamas.
Evidently Harris-Moore has been on the run from officials since he ran away from a halfway house located in Washington state 2 years ago. A lot of people are waiting to hear what the young man has to say about his criminal exploits; even more people are wondering how a 17-year-old makes it all the way from Washington State to the islands of the Bahamas.
Colton Harris-Moore was finally apprehended on the island of Eleuthera and is being transported to the capital of the Bahamas, the island of Nassau, for further questioning. It is uncertain if the young man will be held, tried and punished for his crimes in the Bahamas or if the United States will ask for extradition rights to bring him back to the states to answer for his crimes according to the American justice system.

Nothing “cool” about Colton unless you support recklessness & lawlessness. If it was your car / plane he stole and trashed you would think differently. What if he had passengers when he wrecked the plane? Would their deaths or injuries be cool too? To his protective mom: Wake Up already! This kid’s looking at hard time and he should be. Let’s see, there was another fugitive whose mother kept defending him as he committed crimes in far flung places. What was his name? Oh yeah, Joran. Let’s hope for a judge with some sense who will set the punishment equal to the crime(s) and cool Colton can explore the errors of his ways as he stamps out license plates. Now mom has hired a DB liar..er, lawyer for her “entertainment” interests. What this dumb beouch needs is to stamp out a few plates with Colton to help make restitution for his crimes.
