Get out and Get a Life: PlayStation Network Down For Maintenance Today

Video games are fascinating, but they can distract from the real world. Today is your chance to get out, enjoy the sun and do something, as Parts of the PlayStation Network (PSN) will be down for maintenance today for most of the day.

Don't bother to sign in to your PlayStation Store or Account Management for now. US PlayStation 3 gets four 3D titles starting tomorrow and engadget reports this as the possible reason for the maintenance: "Perhaps the PlayStation Network needed to be down in order to add extra dimensions... ". WipEout HD, Super Stardust HD, Pain, and a demo of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift should be available in a few hours.

If you are having trouble logging into the PlayStation Network, you’re not the only one. Maybe your neighbors are already outside and having a chit-chat. Sony is taking a day off for general maintenance from 11 AM Eastern to 11:30 PM Eastern, so that means you’ll have to turn off the console and get some Vitamin D outdoors.

According to the weather forecast, it should be nice an sunny all over the US. But even if you happen to live in one of the unlucky spots where it's raining right now, you can still do a quick walk around the block. If you prefer to stay inside, why not grab that book that you started to read a while ago...

Whatever you do, don't take it too serious. It will be alright in the end.
