Target Releasing Shaun White Shoe Line This Week

Celebrity and athlete clothing lines and shoe collections have been done before. Nowadays, it seems like the first thing that celebrities do when they get famous is to launch a clothing line. Everyone is trying to squeeze as much money as they can out of their stardom.

Target is continuing to follow the trend of riding on celebrity fame with its launch of the Shaun White shoes for Target later this week. The well known and personably Shaun White has won two Olympic Gold medals and countless other extreme sport competitions. The stores are bumping up the launch of the pro-snowboarder and extreme sports star’s shoe line to premier on July 11^th instead of in the fall of 2010.

Shaun White’s show line will include 3 different styles of men and 3 different styles for boys. Target and Shaun White have collaborated to create a skate-inspired line that reflects Shaun’s unique style.

The shoes feature a variety of different colors and can be worn casually or for skate activities. Shaun already has an apparel line but has yet to work with a company like Target that can distribute his new shoe line on the large basis to as many stores around the country and give him this much exposure.

This is not the first time that Target has distributed celebrity clothing or shoe lines to their thousands of stores around the country. The company has collaborated with other celebrities such as pop singer and teen actress Miley Cirus and famous fashion designers Isaac Mizrahi. The store has enjoyed success in the past by hyping up the launch of products that stem from celebrity collaborations.
