America’s favorite summer holiday weekend is kicking off today. Plenty of families have plans to grill, light some fireworks, and just generally relax and enjoy this 4th of July weekend.
This is definitely a time for families and friends to come together and spend quality time in each other’s company. With most 4th of July activities traditionally taking place outdoors, it is a good idea to check out what kind of weather we can expect across the country for this weekend.
The National Weather Service and Weather.com are optimistically reporting that 4th of July celebrators will have clear skies, making for great grilling out and firework watching conditions.
Almost all of the Northeast will be experiencing great conditions, with highs getting into the 70s and 80s as the weekend progresses.
Some areas in the North and Mid- West, particularly in the western parts of the Plains States, may experience some rainfall during the weekend, but it does not seem like it is going to seriously impact the weekend’s festivities.
Unfortunately for celebrators in the Gulf Coast region, including almost all of Texas and Florida, it looks like Hurricane Alex will still be dumping rain and thunderstorms in this area.
4th of July partiers can still try to have some fun this weekend; it just might be inside and without fireworks. On a positive note, the rainfall coming with Hurricane Alex is expected to cool down what would normally be a scorching weekend in Texas.
Anyone with plans to celebrate outside for this national holiday weekend would benefit from taking a peak at the weather before hauling all of the grilling necessities outdoors. In general, however, it is looking like most of the United States is in for a great weekend with almost perfect weather conditions.
