LeBron James has made a name for himself in the last 7 years, since he graduated high school and went directly into the NBA to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers as the number one pick of the 2003 NBA draft. He started receiving media attention as a sophomore at his high school, St. Vincent - St. Mary; since then he has more than lived up to the potential that sports enthusiasts saw in him.
LeBron’s incredible career has left no doubt in anyone’s mind that he is one of the best basketball players in the history of the game. Setting numerous records, playing well every time he sets foot on the court, and signing a $90 million dollar endorsement deal with Nike has made him a household name.
The latest news in the LeBron James media world came on July 1, 2010 with the announcement that he has officially become a free agent. Leaving the Cavaliers, who helped him earn the name and recognition that he has today, could not have been an easy choice for the superstar.
Since the announcement of his free-agent status, LeBron has met with officials from the Knicks, Bulls, and Nets.
Today there was news that LeBron had created a Twitter account under the name KingJames, leaving enthusiastic fans and sports nuts around the country to speculate that James will be delivering the announcement of what team he will be signing with via a Tweet.
The official LeBron James Twitter account has been active for less than a day and already has 102,055 followers, as of right now. James’s first post was:
“Hello World, the Real King James is in the Building "Finally". My Brother @oneandonlycp3 gas'd me up to jump on board so I'm here. Haaaa”.
Only time will tell if LeBron will be announcing which team he will be signing with by Tweeting it to the world.
