Yesterday, Dime Wars was reporting that actress Jennifer Aniston of “Friends” fame said, basically, that women do not need men in the raising of children, of which she was taken to task by Bill O’Reilly, who responded by saying that such a position belittle men’s contribution to the rearing of children, and moreover, was destructive to the society.
In reading Miss Aniston’s bio, though her parents are now divorced, I noticed that she had the benefit of both parents in her life. To say that a woman doesn’t need a man, is indeed destructive to society – look at all the stats of society, which show that when there is a dearth of father figures, the children in these societies suffer more than those who have both parents in their lives. Miss Aniston doesn’t have to look far – right here in America, the lack of father figures have devastated our society, especially in the minority enclaves. It is why we have the “Big Brother” program as a substitute for the lack of fathers. Miss Aniston’s position might have been said as homage to feminism, but that doesn’t mean that it was prudent.
"The ideal situation is to have both parents raising children because the stats do not lie."
I say to Miss Aniston that she should concentrate on being an actress and not opine on matters of sociology; permit me to digress a little, but God knows that they have tried to make Miss Aniston graduate from her stint on “Friends,” and after many movie flops, they are still trying. But it is ‘Stevie Wonder’ obvious that Miss Aniston will always be a “B” list actress, at best – and it must kill Miss Aniston to know that she will never be the caliber of actress that Miss Jolie is.
I am four score and to this day, I am still smarting over not having my father not being there in my early years at my Cricket games or church plays. I dare say that just having a father in ones early life is of utmost importance to a young child – however, I am not going to belittle the many single women who, everyday raise their children solo and knowing that these single women parents are eligible to celebrate both Mother’s and Father’s Day – but the unvarnished truth is, the ideal situation is to have both parents raising children because the stats do not lie, which augment and buttress Mr. O’Reilly’s position.
