Isabel Toledo is one of the designers that Michelle Obama likes. Michelle wore an outfit made by Toledo for the inauguration of President Obama in January 2010.
Even though Toledo was already a very well known designer along with being award-winning, Michelle choosing to wear Toledo definitely helped bring up the standing of the designer.

Now, Toledo has made a collection for Payless. All of the shoes as under $60. Meaning that in order to wear Toledo you don't have to have thousands of dollars in your shopping budget.

This collection for Payless will reach women from all different places in the world and it will spread the Toledo designs.

I think it is great when designers do things like Toledo is doing. By making a collection for stores that are cheaper and affordable for many people it makes them happy and feel important.

For some people it is so unrealistic to ever buy an expensive pair of shoes or bag, but when a designers makes a collection that is less expensive and affordable, those people now have a chance to experience the designer.

Designers that are trying to get a better name for themselves among all walks of life, should consider making some less expensive collections for stores such as Payless, Target and so forth.

The designer Ana Sui did a similar thing with Target. Resulting in a line for people to purchase that was affordable but still totally adorable.

Toledo is setting a great example and other designers will surely follow.
