Update:
There are no major changes in speed and movement of Hurricane Earl.

However, the government of Antigua and Barbuda has replaced the hurricane warning with a tropical storm warning for Anguilla.

As well, a hurricane warning is in effect for: St. Maarten, Saba, St. Esutatius, British Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rican Islands of Culebra and Vieques.

A hurricane watch is in effect for Puerto Rico,

A tropical storm warning is in effect for Anugilla and Puerto Rico.

A tropical storm watch is in effect for Turks and Caicos Islands.

Strengthening is forecast for Hurricane Earl in the next 24 hours.

Hurricane Earl has become a category 3 hurricane. The hurricane has sustained winds of 125 miles per hour. That's a pretty big storm. Hurricane Earl is expected to become a major storm very soon.

Hurricane Earl's projected bath is tracking up towards New England. Hurricane Earl is being closely watched. It's possible that the hurricane will impact in southeastern New England late Thursday night going on into Friday night.

Hurricane Danielle passed and went further out into the Atlantic, but the water is still a bit rough from her passing. Earl seems to have taken her place. Although, Earl is a lot stronger, and has a lot higher chance of impacting the United States.

People living from the Carolinas northward through the Mid-Atlantic and New England should be paying attention to Hurricane Earl and the forecasts as they get updated throughout the week. Although at this time it appears that Earl will just bring a glancing blow, the potential for a larger impact cannot be ruled out yet.

Hurricane Earl's "cone of uncertainty" brings the storm well within reach of New England. This means that people in the Providence, Rhode Island area should definitely be ready to take precautions if necessary.

Currently, Earl is still off the coast of Puerto Rico. It's possible that the hurricane will make a change in the direction that it is headed, however, that's pretty unlikely so if you live in the New England area, you should be prepared for a pretty big storm. It may start raining a lot in the New England area as Earl approaches, that's something you might want to keep in mind if you live there.
