As you probably know, there is a proposed mosque to be built two blocks away from Ground Zero, in New York City. There is a lot of controversy going on about this. Many Americans actually oppose this mosque being built there.
What people are worried about is that they think that Muslims were responsible for the attacks on September 11th, so they have stereotyped all Muslims to being violent. This is the furthest from the truth, actually the religion is a very peaceful.
Protesting against the mosque that is to be built near Ground Zero goes against the one of the very reasons that America was founded: religious freedom. It is not fair to not let them build their mosque where ever they wish to build it, as they don't protest it when people of other religions build churches in other places.

"The Foundation considers the proposed location of the Mosque near Ground Zero to be extremely inappropriate, as apparent by the anguish and pain it has already caused to the 9/11 victims families and a majority of American Citizens," said Founder of America’s 911 Foundation, Ted Sjurseth
The above quote is an example of someone who obviously had something personal to do with 9-11. He doesn't realize that if we continue as Americans to let things like 9-11 get in between us, we will soon lose everything that America has stood for for the past 200 years.
I'm sure that there are Muslims who had friends or loved ones who perished during the attacks. However, they realize that just because someone said that it was Muslims who organized and carried out the attack doesn't mean that all Muslims are bad. It could just have well been people of other religions.
