Update:
Danielle has been re-categorized as Hurricane. As of 11PM EST the hurricane Danielle is moving with up to 20 miles per hour and has sustained wind speeds of 85 mph, with higher speed gusts. The next update from The National Hurricane Center is expected at 5:00 am EST.

Meteorologist as currently watching Danielle, a tropical storm that formed way out in the Atlantic Ocean. By the end of the day the tropical storm Danielle is expected to turn into a Hurricane.

As long as the wind speed is between about 30 and 75 miles per hour it is a tropical storm. Currently Danielle's wind speed is about 65 miles per hour. A Hurricane is a tropical Cyclone with wind speeds between 75 and 156 miles per hour. A tropical cyclone has a low pressure center, around which it turns. A tropical storm is also characterized by heavy rains and thunderstorms.

Currently the storm is far away from the U.S. and it is not yet a Hurricane. Within the next two days more should be known about the storm.

We're watching Tropical Storm Danielle in the Atlantic. This storm is forecast to reach hurricane strength in the next 48 hours. Danielle is currently only moving with about 16 mph with wind speeds of 75 miles per hour with gusts that are much faster. Once the storm is classified as a hurricane, it is also expected to move much faster. But Danielle could also stay in the Atlantic and dissolve quietly. Many tropical storm never reach the shore.

Even though we are in the middle of the hurricane season, there was only one major hurricane so far. That hurricane, Alex, reached a strength of Category 2. Based on current prediction Danielle could reach Bermuda by Saturday, if he does not change direction or dissolve quietly.
