[/caption]Like Law & Order before it, it seems that Fox’s Glee is becoming the “it” show for stars to appear on. MTV News is reporting that Britney Spears will be making an appearance on the musical hit show, Glee, and that she will be basically playing herself. No doubt that Miss Spears music will be prominently played during the episode, and moreover, many of her lyrics can be used as fodder for any plot story line.
We are told that many of the cast apparently grew up with Britney’s music and will be right at home singing the songs during the episode. Miss Spears is happy to do the show and was conveying this sentiment to the folks at MTV. If Miss Spears’ past appearance on TV is of any guide, she is quite capable of pulling it off; one only has to remember Britney’s hilarious take on Saturday Night Live.
We are not told if Miss Spears will sing her own songs or how the producers of Glee are going to incorporate her songs. We are not even told what songs from Britney’s repertoire will be used in the upcoming episode. Once again, there is much fodder for the writers to use from Miss Spears’ life, but I supposed they will not do so because this would be tantamount to be pouring salt in the healing wounds of Miss Spears.
Something should be said about second chances – The American public loves those who clean up their acts and get back on the saddle of life. This is the journey Miss Spears has been through and I am not saying that her struggles are over – though, I wish that they are - but it is commendable of the marked change that Miss Spears has been through in light of her past trials.
I will also now take the liberty to invoke and address Miss Lohan’s problems only to show that there is hope and redemption in a comeback. I hope that Miss Spears will do well on Glee and that it will further influence her even more to keep focusing on her sobriety and over all well being. For my daughter, Jael, ‘hit us many more times,’ Miss Spears.
