As the Telegraph reports, that the Turkish Airlines has grounded 28 flight attendants. They have been send on unpaid leave and they may come back once they have lost some weight.

Thirteen are women and 15 are men. There has been a warning prior to the actual grounding, which the flight attendants seem to have ignored.

"Weight and height are important factors at all airlines. These criteria are important both in terms of appearance and the ability to move about," Turkish Airlines reportedly said in a statement to its crew.

One of the attendants told a turkish newspaper that he has to lose 22 pounds before he may return to work.

The airline has more than 12,000 employees and is one of the larger airlines in Europe.
