If you have heard of Wikileaks, you have probably also heard about the controversy surrounding the website. According to their description, Wikileaks, "Publishes and comments on leaked documents alleging government and corporate misconduct."

Their purpose is to inform people across the globe of government misconduct and to reveal lies that have been used to cover up government and corporate operations.

The site is exceedingly controversial, however, there are many groups and organizations that support the website and do what they can to help them and protect their ability to continue publishing their documents.

The Swedish Pirate Party has now agreed with Wikileaks to host several new servers and to provide the site bandwidth for free.

The servers will be up and running in a few days in an undisclosed location somewhere in Sweden, according o Anna Troberg, deputy part leader for the Pirate Party. Some of Wikileaks' servers are already hosted in Sweden by hosting company PRQ.

Recently, Wikileaks has come under severe criticism from the U.S. military for publishing thousands of documents related to the campaign in Afghanistan. They have taken steps to ensure its infrastructure for hosting documents is robust and distributed.

The Pirate Party has announced it will help a controversial website before. In May, the party said that it would provide bandwidth for the Pirate Bay, a file sharing site, after a German court injunction left the site temporarily without a bandwidth provider.

The Pirate Party's popularity has been dwindling down since it won 7.1 percent of the votes in elections for the European Parliament last year.

They are a rather controversial party, so it's not that big of a surprise that they are not doing so well, however, there are still a lot of people who deeply support the Pirate Party.
