[/caption]If you've been looking for an app that will make your iPad/iPhone talk to you, look no further. There is an app that will enable you to have your emails, favorite new articles, documents etc. read to you. That app is Speak it! Text to Speech.
You can copy emails, documents, web pages, PDF files, and more; and paste them into Speak it!, and then the app will speak it back to you with the highest quality text to speech engine available for the iPad.
This app is useful for a few things including making pre-made announcements that you can play with the push of a button. However, this app is definitely great for one thing that we can all agree on, playing around with friends. You could have an entire phone conversation with this app. Your friends, or whoever you are talking to, would be very surprised at this sudden voice change.
There are a few features that stand out:
The interface is very easy to use. You just enter the text you want to say, and press the "Speak it!" button.
It works in landscape mode as well as in portrait mode.
You can create audio files and email them. This, I think, is one of the most useful features that could possibly be included in a text to speech app.
Save as many phrases as you would like, and easily repeat them later.
You are able to change the speed of the speaker and the volume.
The ability to pause and resume speech playback is also very useful.

[/caption]The developers of this app have made an all new feature which is pretty cool. A Speak it! store where you can download 20 new voices in addition to the four that are included, American Male, American Female, British Male, and British Female.
You can also run it while using other apps.
The one con is that it uses a lot of power to run as it really works your iPad's machinery.
All in all however, this is one fantastic text to speech app.
The price of this app is $1.99 so that's pretty good for all the features you get with the purchase.
