[/caption]TMZ reported that the lovable petite actor Gary Coleman from “Different Strokes” fame is in critical condition; his brother-in-law said he fell and hit his head and was rushed to a Utah hospital. It hasn’t been the Hollywood dream life for Mr. Coleman who has battled kidney disease and a host of other illnesses.
Adding to Mr. Coleman’s woes, was his lost of all the money he made from the hit series… not by anything that he did, but by having his savings were allegedly stolen by his adopted parents. Mr. Coleman has worked off and on as a security guard and has made guess spots on some television shows… but he has never recaptured the sparks that propelled him to fame on the series “Different Strokes.”
Gary Coleman is not the only star from Different Strokes who has fallen on hard times; Todd Bridges who played his older brother on the show were plagued with personal problems until re turned his life around, but on a more tragic note, Dana Plato who played Coleman’s adopted sister on the Different Strokes committed suicide… years after the show was canceled and the trappings of fame abandoned her. We wish my Coleman a speedy recovery… knowing that he has battled other problems and overcame them.
