President Obama has been in office for close to two years now and in a recent speech in New York, the president invoked the perpetual boogie man, former President George Bush… blaming him for all that is wrong. What a life when you can convince many to look pass the empty eloquence, the dapper blue business suit, and the aura of the presidency.

Imagine, my blaming the Knicks woes on the past coaches or players; or my blaming the politician who replaced Obama in Chicago for the rampant crimes happening on the South Side. Someone should remind the Secular Messiah in Chief (President Obama) that it was because the country was fed up with Bush why he was elected by  almost, a landslide over Senator McCain.

Mr. President whose fault is it that your party has lost the seat in Virginia; the governorship in New Jersey; and the mother of all disappointment, lost the seat held by Ted Kennedy in Massachusetts? Losing the seat in Massachusetts is akin to waking up in Iran and seeing an orthodox Jew in a yarmulke addressing the mullahs as their leader. As recently as two days ago in Hawaii, a Republican won the seat in the district where President Obama grew up - a seat that traditionally belonged to the Democrats.

Mr. President take a look at yourself in the mirror and see that maybe you share the blame for what is going on in our country. With all the monies allocated to stimulate the economy- has the employment rate decrease? With all your reaching out to the Muslim world, has the attacks ceased - only through the grace of God why we haven’t suffered massive casualties. Wouldn’t it be unfair for me to blame President Obama for the three successful terrorist attacks that occurred since he has been elected, especially if I juxtaposed the fact that for seven long years none happened under the boogie man, Bush?

Long time ago, I realized that listening to a President Obama speech is like eating Chinese food; there is no substance and you feel empty almost immediately… with the attendant gas. President Clinton did not have the benefit of governing with the Senate and the Congress being Democrat, yet he succeeded; President Obama has this luxury and we have seen no success so far.

Mr. President you promised not to engage in politics as usual, yet you are malignantly partisan; even your one victorious legislation was had without the benefit of not even one Republican. My President look at all those seats that were traditionally Democrats, which are now Republican or Independent; Look at the trajectory you are on and the Democratic seats that are in danger in the coming mid-term elections. I am certain that the voters are not going to invoke the boogie man, George Bush, during the November elections in 2011.

  1. I'd respond to this if I could find a single thought coherent enough to make a response possible.

Maybe the Knicks quote: "Imagine, my blaming the Knicks woes on the past coaches or players;"

Welcome to reality. The Knicks current woes are, indeed, the result of past policies and actions by Dolan (Cablevision boss) and Thomas (former coach and GM). You may be the only person on the planet who doesn't realize this.

You can't have years and years of Dolan/Thomas wasting money, choosing players who don't fit together, and constantly changing personeel without upgrading in any way, then hope that the new GM/coach can undo all the damage in a year or two.

Same cause and effect for the Knicks and the US presidency. Bush did severe damage to the budget, both with tax cuts that have severely hampered revenue and with ongoing war commitments that carry huge costs which can't easily be lowered now that we have occupied other countries.

The economy, such as it was, self-destructed with Bush's help (though he and Republicans are far from the only culprits).

You can't put all that back together again in a couple of years, especially with the Republican Party doing everything in its power to prevent all attempts to fix the problems.
