Jesse James, The Real Reasons Behind His Cheating On and Destroying His Marriage With Sandra Bullock

Jesse James grew up mostly with his father. His father would beat him up and terrorize him. Jesse had a pretty awful childhood, which resulted in him growing up scared and feeling very worthless. On Tuesday's Nightline Jesse's cheating becomes more understandable, but obviously still not right.

He grew up feeling abandoned and fearful. He felt so ashamed and as if he really didn’t matter.

He justifies the cheating he did on Sandra Bullock with this quote from People, “'Well, you know, I might as well do whatever I can to like run her off, 'cause she is going to find out what I am anyway and leave me anyway."

All of this shows a different light on who Jesse is and that he didn’t just cheat because he felt like cheating. He knew that him cheating was going to get found out and he knew that he didn’t deserve to be with someone like Sandra. He was just waiting until she found out what he was and then he thought she would leave him anyway.

Reading about how Jesse James grew up and the things he had to deal with makes it a little bit more understandable of why he cheated and what the underlying reasons were. Even though cheating is totally and utterly not ok and acceptable, getting a little bit of Jesse’s background we can start to understand why he did what he did.

What Jesse needs is he needs to realize that he really isn’t worthless and he needs to go and take some time to himself and really find out what it is that he wants from his life. He needs to do some self-discovery and really set some goals and go for them.
