Oh how fleeting fame is and how fickle the public; there was a time, and it might be so again, when it seemed that every blinking moment was spent covering the vapid going-ons of Paris Hilton. Paris was omnipresence, even when she did the “perp” walk and when she subsequently left jail, the media covered it. It is not that Paris suddenly decided to live the life of a Nun… or that a huge swath of the public is no longer curious about certain Celebrities lives, but apparently not so much now for Paris.
I know we had to come to our collective senses, asking, why is this woman famous? What is it that she had done to warrant such coverage? It was one of those phenomenons that had no basis in logic, but with her reality show over and even her co-star, Nicole Richie, having babies, must have finally cemented in the public’s psyche how silly we were in following the Paris’ phenomenon.
My little sister would say that I was jealous of Paris for making loot out of what little she had to offer, while idiots like me had to get up and slave to make an income. Perhaps, Paris will have to up the ante somehow to regain the public’s interested in what she is doing… but my little sister has moved on and has been giving me the 411 on some of those who have stolen Paris’ thunder like Kim Kardashian and some girl name “Snooki” from the reality series, The Jersey Shore - God help us!
