Was Leaving the Transformers a Dumb Move By Megan Fox?

We all have seen Megan Fox, and yes indeed, she is disgustingly pretty, but there are many women who are a feast to the eyes and who are out of work in Hollywood. I say this to say that if you are employed in Hollywood, do count your many lucrative blessings. Years ago, two members of the production team of the Transformers movies wrote an opened letter to Megan, which basically scolded her for her diva-like behavior.

It would be dumb if Megan’s behavior contributed to her leaving the successful franchise; where else has she been bankable? All her other movies so far have done less than stellar box office, and as a movie fan, I don’t see anything on the horizon that would match the box office receipts of Transformers. Now, I know box office take is not the end all, but Megan is not exactly Angelina Jolie in the acting department.

To be blunter, I don’t see Megan's name being called for an Oscar nomination anytime soon – so when you are part of a lucrative franchise that is printing box office money - stick with it! Michael Bay, the director for both Transformers movies, is someone you need to maintain a good rapport with, but we are told that Megan and Bay couldn’t get along because of the latter’s behavior on the set of the Transformers movies.

There are many examples of actors who had a good thing going in Hollywood and blew it over their inflated egos: Shelly Long who left “Cheers” and was replaced by Kirstie Alley; David Caruso who left “NYPD Blue” (he has said himself how lucky he has been to have bounce back with CSI Miami); Susan Summers who left “Threes Company;” Benjamin Bratt who left “Law & Order”; and I can go on and on. I say to Megan that physical beauties are a dime a dozen… but beauty coupled with acting chops is a rare breed tandem. Prove us wrong Megan….
