Miley Cyrus' Growing Pains

Maybe, in some passive way, I am trying to get back at Miley Cyrus for dominating my televisions due to my daughter’s addiction to all things Hannah Montana. It has always been sad to see most of these Disney child stars awkwardly trying to make the transition to be considered serious artists… desperately trying to appeal to an audience outside of  the pre and “tween” crowd.

You have seen this train wreck countless times: teen star gets in trouble…offending her base demos… so to prevent the backlash from adversely affecting the offending star’s pocket book, the star is seen wearing innocent colors, like a baby-blue dress, face void of make-up, cornrows, and at Disney Land hugging Mickey Mouse. It is a cynical ploy, but it is amazing how many times the public falls for it, even though it was telegraphed before undertaken.

In Miley’s case, what has warranted her needs to or employ this cynical, but apparently, effective publicity ploy mentioned above, is the fact that Miley has been engaging in grown up behavior since her early teens. I have wondered if Miley is emancipated, particularly, because of her having a twenty-year-old boyfriend when she was around fifteen or so.

If I recalled, fame auteur, Roman Polanski, is currently under house arrest for doing to a teenager, what, I supposed, Miley twenty-year-old boyfriend tried or did to her, especially since she lived with him in one part of her parents’ mansion. The deafening silence of Miley’s parents, on these living arrangements, especially being privy to the fact they come from Southern… Conservative roots, makes me surmise that Miley must be formally and legally emancipated.

In other aspects of Miley’s life, she is partaking in ventures to secure the image of a young hipster…. This can be seen in her latest videos where Miley is looking like Madonna circa 1985… with the provocative lacey underwear and Goth make-up.

Outside of Miley’s professional life, we have recently seen her grinding up a sweat on the crotch of a forty-year-old. There has been so much negative back-lash on Miley’s dirty dancing episode… that Miley’s people have said that the grinding on the forty-year-old crotch was ok because he is flamingly gay. I supposed that makes it ok that a seventeen-year-old can emulate “the nasty”… so long as the recipient is gay. I can see all the pedophiles scheming and pretending that they are gay, while trolling teenage hangouts.

I hope it turns out well for Miley in all of her endeavors, vocational and otherwise, if nothing else, for the emotional investment my daughter has for her. Of more import, that Miley must be mindful of, are the legions of cautionary tails borne out of the cute teens who were used up and now are dead or walking the jagged-walk-of-shame… providing fodder for the paparazzi and TMZ.
