While writing my earlier post about the Gulf Oil Spill, I realized a way that the oil spill could be cleaned up and the flow of the oil stopped. Click on the image below to view/read the diagram in it's original size.
At first, when you are reading this, you might think, "That won't be enough," but think about it, every drop of oil collected could save thousands of animals and other wildlife. No one has come up with a workable solution so far, so what does the world have to lose? Read on...

I just saw C. Jeschke's idea to stop the oil flow. We must try this until a solutioon is found. I am not an engineer, but I KNOW I would have thought of this scenario if I had any background knowledge and expertise in this field... I know it! Let's find a solution now.
ردحذفwhy not pull this tube out..likea nail...or drop a huge cement block on top of it!!
ردحذفI would add to this concept a "containment tube" about 100 yards in diameter, made of tight-weave fabric that keeps the oil from dispersing from the blowout location all the way up to the surface of the ocean, where the ships could to their job. Oil and water don't mix, this would simply keep the oil in a physical "stack" all the way up, where it can be captured and processed.
