[/caption]If you are a sports coach who owns an iPad you are probably wondering if there is an app that allows you to draw plays just like your customary whiteboard clipboard. With these you can show your team the routes they are going to take in the game, and you can also plan out how you want a game to run.
Well, there is an app that allows you to do that: CoachPad. Even the name is fitting. CoachPad allows you to select a field for the sport that you are playing, and to draw plays, routes etc. on it. It has different colored players for different teams so you know who is who, and it is also designed with the coach in mind, it's easy and intuitive to use.
There are field templates for almost every major sport: Basketball, Football, Soccer, Rugby, Volleyball, Tennis and Ice Hockey. There is also just a blank whiteboard function for times that you don't need a field to draw on.
One sport that is not currently included is Lacrosse. That's pretty important as it's America's fastest growing sport, so I'm sure that the developers will include it soon.
Once you have drawn on a field template, you can save it for later use. This allows you to make more than one play and to save it on your iPad.
You can undo and redo playback formations and tactics if you make a mistake. You can also scribble out your mistakes, making it a lot more like having a real board. You can move players by tapping and holding, complete with path outlines.

[/caption]With this app, you can present your game-plans in high-definition on your iPad to your team.
One more improvement that could be made is half-court support for basketball. For many plays you only use half of the court, so it would enable you to view the court much bigger if they allowed you to do that.
Besides that, however, it's an excellent app and I'm sure that any coach would love to have this one around.
