[/caption]There is a new version of the "2010 World Factbook" called The World Factbook for iPad. This was a top-selling iPhone reference that has been a featured app multiple times on the App Store.
This application utilizes the extensive CIA World Factbook to give you extensive information on more than 250 countries and locations all over the world.
It includes maps of countries, guides to their flags and all sorts of information about the various countries.
This app includes, a picture of the country's flag with a full description thereof, a color map of the country, a location map of the country, an introductions, geography information, demographic information, economic information, communications and transportation information as well as military and transnational issue information.
All in all, this app has thorough information on almost every country in the world. This app is a traveler's dream and a student's handy guide.
Content in the application is updated every two weeks, or as often as the CIA releases their database updates.
If you have ever wanted the world at your fingertips - well, at least the world's information - then this app is most definitely for you.
There is one thing that I would like to see happen with the app. That would be for the CIA to endorse it. This way, they might give the developers exclusive content just for their app.

[/caption]I think that this app is very deserving of a big high five for compiling the CIA World Factbook all into one easy to use and navigate iPad app.
The The World Factbook for iPad app was designed for the iPad so it is only compatible with the iPad and iPhone OS 3.2 or later. However, there is also an iPhone version.
The iPad version costs $1.99 and the iPhone version costs $0.99. Both apps are pretty inexpensive so they shouldn't make a very big hole in your wallet.
