It is being reported by Fox News that Joran van der Sloot, now in Peruvian custody for the alleged murder of one its citizens, Stephanie Flores, could have been arrested by our FBI for Extortion weeks ago.  Apparently, Joran, desperately in need of money, tried to extort money from an Alabama citizen… by trying to sell the story about the whereabouts of Natalee Holloway’s remains.

What is so sickening about this extortion plot is that Joran was the one accused of Natalee’s murder some five years ago and was now trying to financially gain from his alleged crime. All along, Joran had claimed in the past that he knew nothing of Natalee’s murder – so how come, all of sudden, Joran knows where Natalee’s remains are?

Fox is reporting that the FBI had an arrest warrant out for Joran and sat on it. Now the questions which begs itself is if the FBI had moved to arrest Joran, could this arrest have prevented the death of the Peruvian girl, Stephanie Flores – whose murder is eerily similar to that of Natalee Holloway.

In the alleged Extortion plot, Joran talked someone in Alabama (the Feds are not saying who) into giving him some $15,000.00 via a wire transfer to his account. This payment Joran received was but a partial payment of the $250,000.00 he asked for to detail the whereabouts of Natalee’s remains. The FBI, in its defense, said that the timing of the Joran’s arrest for murder by the Peruvian authorities was purely coincidental; yet, the timing was rather curious. Whatever Joran is eventually charged with, we hope that the authorities in their respective jurisdictions do not butcher the case.

  1. I for one have been waiting for this sociopath to be prosecuted. The corrupt Aruba government covered up for him 5 years ago. Now they have to bear responsibility for another beautiful, innocent young lady losing her life at his hands.

  2. His first name is Joran not Johan.

  3. Unbelievable that the FBI did not act on that implicating information. @nik111: here in the Netherlands Joran is regarded as a psychopath rather than a sociopath by some expert. This was as early as 2008.

  4. Interesting choice of words:

"Whatever Joran is eventually charged with, we hope that the authorities in their respective jurisdictions do not butcher the case."

    Butcher, huh?
