The messages have empowered women to think they are beautiful just as they are without equating beauty to Barbie doll images.
Blogger Caitlin Boyle became tired of watching women picking themselves apart in front of the mirror. She took a simple and small act that turned to be a movement. She simply scribbled a note on Post-It: "You Are Beautiful!" and slapped it on public bathrooms mirror. Within days, many women started following her, posting similar scribbled notes on gym lockers, diet shakes in supermarkets, bookstores, and many such places, anywhere and to some extent every possible public places.
The movement attracted attention of media soon and even New York Daily News: Caitlin Boyle's Post-it message, Web site, give women important message: You're beautiful and Salon.com: This is not a trick post; you are beautifulcovered the story.
Caitlin's website, OperationBeautiful.com, showcases the notes that were posted by several women around the world along with the stories behind the scene, interviews, tips of improving outlooks, some interesting research findings and everything to redefine beauty of women of all ages.
She has also brought all the women empowering messages to a book titled 'Operational Beautiful: Transforming the Way You See Yourself One Post-it Note at a Time'. The book is on sale tagged at $17.00.
The price may not be much for all those women who considers the book as a marvelous testament to the power of beauty, encouragement and self-love. It helps in reminding women to love oneself and this is the only way to be truly successful in life.
