Do you remember when a few months ago the social network giant, Facebook, released it's "Like" button? Just hours afterwards, the web was filled with bloggers setting up the "Like" button on their websites and with Facebook users liking things left and right. Now it is relatively hard to find a blog that doesn't have a Facebook "Like" button somewhere within its posts.

A few months later, now, Twitter, one of the world's largest micro-blogging services, has come up with their own official "Tweet" button. It is very similar to the third party tweet buttons already out there, however, it does come with a few pretty cool features that aren't out there already.

First, the tweeting process is one click shorter as you don't have to authorize a third party to access your Twitter account. Second, you can chose for your button to show how many times your post has been tweeted and third, you can recommend up to two Twitter accounts for users to follow after they share content from your website.

Read our verdict on the next page.

Despite these new features, it is still questionable if Twitter's button will grow the way Facebook's button did. After all, there are already a lot of third party buttons out there and, if someone doesn't already have a Twitter button on their site, they very likely have a Facebook button. Choosing between the two, most people will probably go with the Facebook button as there are more Facebook users out there than Twitter users. Also, adding buttons such as these can slow down your site so it's kind of a win-lose choice getting this new button.

It's just a matter of time before we see if this button will be accepted or ignored. I'm sure, however, that there will be loyal Twitter users who will immediately install this button on their sites. As well, there will be the loyal Twitter users who will immediately tweet all sorts of things from all over the web.
