National Night Out: America's Night Out Against Crime

The 27th Annual National Night Out, a unique safety and community event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is taking place on Tuesday, August 3, 2010.

NATW's annual "National Night Out" (NNO) program is held on the first Tuesday each year in August is promoting involvement in crime and drug prevention activities. The program has been very successful throughout the years.

It has grown to involve over 34 million people and was supported by over 10,000 communities. It encourages that neighbors work together and care for each other and so help to prevent crime and drug use.

There is for example one such even in Port St. Lucie, Florida:



"National Night Out" is supported by several agencies and organizations including the U.S. Congress, Justice Department, FBI and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
