[/caption]It was a long media circus, but Lindsay Lohan is now officially out of jail. However, she still has a ways to go before she can claim true freedom once again, MTV reports.
LiLo, who happens to be everyone's favorite celebrity train wreck, is going to be continuing to fight for her sobriety at an undisclosed (for now) treatment center, where she will once again undergo a drug and alcohol rehab program. While there, she will be under strict supervision, and any parole violation will lead to her returning to jail to finish the 3 month sentence, of which she served 13 days.
After she is released from the program, she will then be given a year of random drug testing to try to help her stay clean, but this doesn't necessarily mean much. Anyone who has dealt with someone who has an addiction knows that "random" drug testing is rarely as random as it says. A few days notice can be enough to work out a plan.
But I do hope I am wrong. There are some indications that Lindsay took her short incarceration seriously, such as reports of her first night there, and her adjustment over the two weeks she spent in the facility.
There is also the statement made by Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Sheriff's department, who spoke of her reaction to finding two huge bags of letters and books sent by supportive fans who wanted to see her well.
"When an inmate is released, they leave with the clothes they came in. She was given two huge bags full of mail and books. She was noticeably moved by the amount of mail and books sent to her. She thanked everybody as she left."
Whatever happens, Lindsay has a chance to really make this time count, and so straighten out her life. If she can get her party girl habits under control, she just might have a chance to banish that reputation on set, and get back into the spotlight with a renewed career.
