Hollywood actress and star of 'Pretty Woman' and 'Erin Brokovich' Julia Roberts describes her family in unique way these days. In the new issue of Elle magazine she reveals that she, her husband Danny Moder (cameraman) and three kids are practicing Hinduism, reports CNN.
Julia, 42-year-old born to a Baptist and Catholic couple, says in the interview to the magazine that she goes to a Hindu temple in LA with her husband and kids to chant prayers and celebrate regularly.
Last September, when the actress was in India for the shoot of her new movie "Eat, Pray, Love", she was secretly converted to Hinduism. Papparazzi have captured a few photos of her with spiritual guru Swami Shri Dharam in a Ashram Hari Mandir in Pataudi, India.
Julia refuses to get Botox, according to the Elle magazine, rather she prefers to age gracefully and let her kids understand her expressions. She says: "It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story… and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office. "
Julia, embracing her natural beauty, landed fourth time on PEOPLE's 2010 Most Beautiful issue cover.
"Eat, Pray, Love" is a Ryan Murphy film produced by Brad Pitt and the movie is based on the Elizabeth Gilbert's best-selling 2006 memoir. Julia is seen on the screen as a New York writer and divorced woman who travels the world trying to find herself. She visits Italy for food, India for spirituality and Bali for love.
Celebrities practicing Hinduism is not new. Former Beatle George Harrison, NFL player Ricky Williams and author J.D. Salinger have also practiced the religion.
