Those who have perused and read this blog know that I detest Political Correctness (PC) and the accompanying, ingrained thought that the “truth” is relative. There are those who will say that taking on the parishioners of Political Correctness and its lucrative cottage industry is tantamount to being quixotic… but I have had the courage of my convictions since I was fifteen or so… so bring on the windmills.

Gone are the days when one could sit down with friends and discus polarized issues - even the prestigious halls of academia, which were once bastions and forums for friendly, but spirited milieus to opine on these issues, are now engaged in fascist behavior. The former advocates of free speech from the sixties and seventies, most of them now Ivy League professors, now sanction tactics that muzzle opposing views.

Try holding a contrary position on abortion, gay marriage, water-boarding, the environment… and the Military - you are likely to be booed, spat upon, and many times denied the forums, which once fostered speech of all stripes. Taking on Political Correctness is even more formidable because the Press is a card carrying member of the PC police… sometimes authoring many of its precepts.

Let me point out some of the more egregious examples of Political Correctness; in New York, some of the local television stations would not mention the ethnicity of the accuse, if he were a minority… so even if you were a good Samaritan wanting to assist the cops, you were left scratching your head. How many times have we seen guys in black masks at the G-7 meetings… protesting and sometimes breaking property and engaging in wanton violence, but having the media downplay their anti social behavior… now apply the same situation to some of idiot members of the Tea Party… and they are judged collectively and equated to the Nazis.

Take the current immigration debate: do you know that a Mexican can cross the border and have more rights than President Obama’s aunt who were here for decades?  The President’s aunt had to fight tooth and nail to stay in America and the media would have you believe that there is nothing wrong with the laws addressing immigration.

Over three weeks ago, the North Koreans blew a South Korean ship out of the waters… killing some 47 people. The United Nations is still trying to come up with some sort of punishment; a couple days ago, Israel boarded a flotilla… with so called peace activists and killed nine (See the video on You Tube: Israeli troops storm Gaza flotilla) and the paper tigers at the UN are already convoking to punish Israel. In addition, you can say anything vile about the Christian religion, especially if you believe in Traditional Christianity like me… and get away with it.

Recently, Sir Elton John opined that Jesus was gay… imagine him saying the same about someone in the Muslim Caliphate… I dare say that Sir Elton John would have been found floating in the Thames River bottoms up…. I conclude by paraphrasing the great Bob Seger, who sang that he took no lessons from the trees… sticking out his thumb to check the direction of the prevailing breeze.
