[/caption]The iSeismograph HD app for iPad is an interesting app. It samples the acceleration of your iPad using the internal G-Force Sensor. This acceleration is detected in x, y and z direction.
The data collected is plotted for all three axis. You can see the information on a graph or you can export the data into an ASC II file for further analysis.
This app is nice for showing of your iPad's very, very sensitive accelerometer or for just seeing if there are any ground vibrations.
The app is not very sensitive, however so I think that an option to boost the sensitivity would be very useful. Or, they could just have different scales at which to graph it. A Geiger Counter (a real one - not an app) has X100, X10 and X1. This means that you can multiply the amount shown on the dial by either 100, 10 or 1 depending on what that is selected on. This amplifies what the counter detects enabling you to see things that weren't possible to see before.

[/caption]Also, as this app can get rather boring unless you get some intense table pounding, I think that maybe the developers should include some information about seismographs, their history and maybe a bit about what they are used for today. This would teach people a lot and it would double or triple the entertainment received through this app.
This app was built for the iPad so it is compatible with only iPhone OS 3.2.
All in all, the Seismograph HD App for iPad is an interesting app, but it has some flaws. I give it a 6 out of a 0-10 rating. It just needs to have a lot more that you can do with it. Also, something that makes it interesting for everyone.
