This Monday was Quit Facebook day, which didn’t turn out to be successful at all.  Only 34,100 of Facebook’s 450 million users quit Facebook. These people quit due to having privacy concerns. The reason such a low number of people decided to quit goes to show you just how much Facebook has become addicting to people of the world.

Facebook is not just some easy habit people like to and can quit that easily. Facebook is interesting and has all sorts of things for people to see and keep track of. Sometimes you will find yourself on Facebook without even knowing why you went on in the first place. Some people say to themselves, “ Okay, no more Facebook today.” And a couple hours later they are on Facebook browsing the newsfeed.

Just last week Facebook got rid of 50 privacy settings and 150 other options that were built in without answering the question of “why?”

Facebook has had its problems, like with the hacker videos that were being posted like crazy on peoples’ accounts.  But even though there have been problems with Facebook in the past and there will still obviously be some sort of problems in the future, more and more people use it and the number of people that quit or will quit Facebook looks like it wont really increase in the near future.

Facebook has become such a common thing in the lives of people and to some degree serves a very good use. The good use of Facebook is that you can stay in communication with all your friends, even the ones that live halfway across the world.
