With the coming of Hurricane Season 2010 comes a review for an app that will help you through it...

This app has very detailed high definition interactive tracking maps. These allow you to see hurricane plots from 1851! This means that even if there are no storms currently, you can still see some information about past hurricanes. Or, if there is a storm now, you can see how close the path of it is to the path of an earlier hurricane.

Hurricane HDicon helps you track all tropical storms that are being tracked by the National Hurricane Center and Central Pacific Hurricane Center. You can select a currently active storm, an inactive storm or a past season storm. You can see detailed information that includes wind speed, lat/lon, speed/direction, pressure, date and time, you distance from each point.

Hurricane HD is the most advanced hurricane tracking application for the iPad that is out there right now. This is a must-have app for anyone living in an area where there have been hurricanes.

Even if you don't live in a hurricane area, this app can get you information on hurricanes like you have never seen before.

If you have interests on the east or west coast of the US, this app is great for you.

If you are interested in severe weather or meteorology or are studying tropical system history, this app is perfect for you.

If you are traveling to the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic Ocean, or Northeast Pacific Ocean then you should get this app. It will provide you with lots of information about storms in these areas.

Priced at $3.99 this app is reasonably priced and you get a lot more than you pay for.

This app was designed for the iPad so it is only compatible with iPhone OS 3.2 or later.

[rating: 5/5]
This is an excellent application and I do not hesitate to recommend it to my friends, or even strangers.

Keep in mind, however, that if you have a hurricane in your area you should not rely on this app. Pay attention to local media outlets. This will ensure that you are safe.
