The press in England always tried to find something wrong about the relationship, as Kate Middleton is not from royal decent. Kate Middleton was dubbed "Waity Katie" by the British press.

Last month the two were vacationing in Kenya, when Price William proposed to Kate. The Queen of England is also very happy about the recent events. Buckingham Palace released a statement saying that the Queen is "absolutely delighted" for Prince William and Kate, who are both 28 years old.
"The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton," the statement from Clarence House read. On the Queen's recently established Facebook page it reads:"The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton".

The royal wedding is scheduled for next spring in London. It was also reported that Prince William got the OK from Kate Middleton's father, before he ask Kate. CNN has some pictures showing Kate and Prince William here.

Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton was born on 9 January 1982. For years the media has already speculated that she is going to marry Prince William at one point. While there was some chatter that it would be not right as Kate is a commoner, history showed that things like that do not matter in England any more as referenced by the late Lady Diana.
Kate's father was originally a flight dispatcher for British Airways, but later on founded a mail order company together with his wife. It is called Party Pieces and sells party decorations and supplies. Through that mail order business the Middletons became millionaires.
Kate Middleton grew up in Berkshire. She then went to Marlborough College and finally studied at the University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William. Kate is already used to living the royal life: She attend several high profile events and has always been admired for excellent fashion taste.
