Apple has released iOS 4.2 build 8C134 for both iPad and iPhone and iPod touch devices. This could be indicating that the company is close to the public release of the new operating system, which was planned to be released this month, as reported by appleinsider.com.

Apple's chief executive Steve Jobs,  Apple's CEO, demonstrated iOS 4.2 at the company's iPod event early in September. He showed its new features as for example the AirPlay. AirPlay is the wireless streaming of audio, video and photos to the new Apple TV or other AirPlay-compliant devices. The AirTunes, which already exists, was only capable of delivering audio.

At the same time the new AirPrint was also introduced, which enables users to print anything from their wireless device through a new Print Center app.

The new OS will bring multitasking features to the iPad. The functionality of the iPad will be expanded. Several thing that were before not available will be there now, for example the ability to open attachments in third party apps. The iPad will now also support multiple email aliases and can organize emails by threads.
