The price for gold was $1,375.09 per ounce at 10:17 am this morning. With $22.79 it's up sharply from the opening.
The reason for this seems to be that North Korea needs attention and is bombing South Korea. Gold loves conflicts. Whenever there is an uncertainty or a conflict, the gold price immediately starts to climb, as investors flee paper based investments and shift to gold instead.
While I am writing this post, gold continues to climb. As of 10:31 am the price for one ounce was already at $1,379.20, up 26.90 for the day. Hopefully Kim Jong-Il will come to his senses fast. While I do like to watch the gold price climb, I completely do not like war or any military conflict.
At 2:58 pm the price for gold was $1,376.40. That means gold is trading above the $1,375 mark for several hours now and seems to have found a stable range.
Update:
At 4:21 pm the gold price is at $1,375.86 per ounce, up $23.56 for the day.
